Back in the day, we used to have an aunt (was married to my uncle) that we called "machine gun." That's because she talked non-stop every minute of the day. It was exhausting for us and when we see her, we usually would run the other way and yelling "ra.ta..ta. ra..ta.ta.., the machine gun is here." "ra.ta..ta" is the simulated noise of the machine gun firing. Yes, kids can be cruel.
It seems that Hazel is a mini machine gun now too. Non-stop singing, talking, yelling, etc at home. It is great that she has so much energy but like the original machine gun, it is exhausting to be "on" all the time. That personality changes significantly at school. The girl is a mouse at school. Not a single a word or even looking up at people who says "hi" to her. The teachers are surprised that she sings that much often at home when she doesn't sing at all at school. Go figure. Some days, I wish it was the reverse. A quiet house would be real nice.
OH yes, the ****-ster, that's the other name us girlies called her! I know it was mean but it sure was fun making fun of her!
